A question of time
Can’t write long, no time. Came back from holidays a week ago, dashed over to Paris at the weekend, everyone’s flooded me with assignments / interviews / podiatrist appointments and the like. Hardly a moment to remember to eat / drink / shower. Have arranged to get rid of my other half this evening so I can find a spare minute to write down everything I need to do in the next 2 weeks, and scratch myself. Argh!
So it’s fitting that I opened my email (on the blackberry while wolfing down some hurriedly buttered toast) this morning and learnt about the imminent symposium on “time” – called Questioning Time – at the Design Academy. It’s all day. Tomorrow. Eeep! Open calendar, shuffle, shift, delete, cancel.
It’ll take up a bunch of time, all day actually. But maybe the speakers, lecturers and students there will give us a few tips to make more time, or the semblance of. The event marks the start of the 2010/2011 academic year.
From the press release: ”Speakers of worldwide reputation such as Michael Braungart (Cradle to Cradle), artist Joep van Lieshout and the doctor of the future, Jay Parkinson, will be present to discuss our Zeitgeist, physical and personal time and the times to come. Parallel with the time-triggering lectures will run several workshops on creative time, time management, mindfulness, speed reading and slowing down.”
As I speed read this I think, my god, how will I fit it all in?
