Schipol's comfy library

Or something to that effect. It’s nice to think that “we” (I say that as a 4-year resident) are featured in today’s arts section in the International Herald Tribune. Of course, the concepts of a library and trust systems seem to be a thing of the past, but you have to admire the Dutch effort to keep “passers-through” or “stopover-ers” informed of the culture they’ll never see. And it’s heartening, this na├»ve provision of services such as comfy chairs and the opportunity to have a go on an iPad.

The Schipol Airport library. Check it out if you can’t come quite into the country (let alone down south to Eindhoven!). Or just become a member and read one of the 1200 books in one of the more than 12 languages…
