Thanks for posting on this blog entry, even though it was written last summer! Good to see that readers are moved enough to respond! No, I don’t want to write in regular Dutch, because this is an international site. I don’t actually represent any of the organisations that I mention in the blog so it’s not about getting more clients at all! I’m an independent writer and I was really inspired by the party. This site, The Dossier, is intended to paint a picture of the heartbeat of cultural life in Eindhoven, through the activities and happenings that don’t get as much coverage by the authorities. Th article is not written to attract more Germans, either. Perhaps you’re confusing the name of the party I’ve been reviewing with what I actually do? Anyway, maybe my writing isn’t to your taste – sorry about that!

Kunnen jullie niet wat minder opgewonden doen en gewoon nederlands spreken?

Voegt dat quasi moderne gepraat iets toe aan het werven van klanten of is dat gewoon een beetje spielerei?

Yes, there is a movement here in Eindhoven that I – as an observer and a foreigner – think is important to document; it’s a movement by people who are serious about demonstrating the vibrancy of Eindhoven, authentically. You might like to join in on some of these debates or perhaps invite me to any that might come up in future! I did enjoy Zimmer Frei, although I only went to the opening party. I hope the rest of the event was a success – wishing you all the best with further events, too! And BTW, without subsidies, we are forced to use our creativity, right?

Btw the title Zimmer Frei equally relates to the fact that we have loads of free space like the Schellens in Eindhoven that should be used, instead of remaining vacant. We want to invite people to use it for creative purposes. Eindhoven wants the creative capital, but should prove it by showing willingness to invest, by making it easier to create an interesting city from the bottom up. No subsidies needed!

Anyways, I just hope you enjoyed it as much as we have…
